Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical leadership, design oversight, and direction for capital projects across US plants. Likely will lead project teams, manage budgets, and coordinate equipment specifications from SMEs to procurement.

Travel up to 50% across US sites is expected. Ideal candidate has 5–7 years of process design/engineering experience in manufacturing, with strong background in bulk material handling, milling, coatings, and high-speed equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–7 years' experience in a project/design engineering role focused on mechanical equipment or equipment systems.
• Experience in Industrial Manufacturing Environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue RFPs to engineering consultants, equipment vendors, contractors and/or EPCs.
• Internally develop/review/approve piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Develop/manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Conduct engineering reviews with consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Coordinate commissioning and start-up activities.
• Provide monthly progress reports and financial updates on assigned projects.
