Job Description

Join us as an Arch Energy Project Engineer. Setting up the pre-purchase project early for successful completion is imperative, and the Project Engineer initiates that process. Arch has developed systematic SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure equipment is bought correctly and the team is aware of deliverables. Flexibility to project requirements, responsiveness, accuracy, promptness, a positive attitude, and eagerness are key characteristics we seek in a team member.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  1. Review project requirements and timeline with the project team via purchasing kickoff meeting.
  2. Develop, distribute, and update weekly purchasing timelines to the project team.
  3. Review project documents and identify pre-purchase equipment lists.
  4. Compile documents into shared file storage.
  5. Determine qualified vendors, distribute RFPs with links or copies of documents.
  6. Submit RFIs from design review, recommend alternative products.
  7. Provide weekly pricing updates and attend project meetings as required.
  8. Develop scope/leveling sheets with vendors, ensuring compliance with specifications/drawings.
  9. Collect and review vendor pricing, compliance, and include in leveling sheets.
  10. Share draft scope/leveling sheets with the project team.
  11. Schedule and lead descope meetings with vendors and stakeholders.
  12. Prepare pre-purchase proposals, including scope, lead times, quotes, and vendor comparisons.
  13. Create and distribute Equipment Responsibility Matrices to ensure scope clarity.
  14. Follow up with the project team, adjust proposals as necessary.
  15. Attend weekly pre-purchase equipment meetings, maintain project status databases.
  16. Facilitate technical questions with vendors during purchasing.
  17. Participate in site and factory visits as needed.
  18. Maintain lists of equipment lead times and regional vendors.
  19. Build and maintain strong vendor and internal team relationships.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years experience
  • Engineering Degree preferred
Training and Mentoring
  • Participate in Lunch and Learns, seminars, and trade conferences.
  • Mentor team members, contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives.
