Job summary

Jamco America, Inc. in Everett, WA is seeking a Project Engineer to deliver engineering group outputs and serve as the engineering contact focal for all project communications with internal and external customers after contract award.

You will lead and coordinate with the engineering team to meet technical and program requirements, manage scope and interactions with stakeholders, and ensure complete integration across engineering functions. Travel within the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Engage as Engineering Focal for internal and external customers on technical matters.
  • Establish Tier2 schedule based on Tier1 schedule and distribute to all team members.
  • Review and integrate Tier3 schedules to support Tier2 schedule.
  • Maintain up-to-date engineering work scope.
  • Complete aircraft modification engineering packages per approved standards and program scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Identify out-of-scope work and coordinate with Functional Managers and PM.
  • Assess and prepare CIP to identify changes to scope and coordinate CIP approvals.

SUMMARY

Theproject engineerisresponsibleforthedeliveryoftheengineeringgroup workproductand shallbetheengineeringcontactfocalforallproject communicationfrominternalandexternalcustomersanddeliverables,afterthe contract award.Theprojectengineershallberesponsibleforpreparing,scheduling,leading,and workingwiththeengineeringteamtoachievethetechnicalandprogramrequirementssuccessfully.The projectengineer shallalsoberesponsiblefor assuringcompleteintegration and maintainingbusinessrelationshipsbetweentheengineeringteamandallotherinternalcustomers,assuringtheengineeringworkproduct meetsallcompanygoals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESincludethefollowingundersupervision.Otherdutiesmaybeassigned.

  • EngineeringFocalforinternalandexternalcustomersfortechnicalmatters
  • Establish Tier2schedulebasedonTier1scheduleprovided/updatedbyProgramManageranddistributeittoallteammembersonceupdated.
  • Responsiblefor reviewingand integratingallengineeringteamsTier3schedulestosupportTier2schedule.
  • Maintainuptodateengineeringworkscope.
  • Responsibleforcompletingaircraftmodificationengineeringpackagesinaccordancewithestablisheddesignstandardsandmeetingtherequirementsoftheprogramworkscope,schedule,andbudget.
  • Toidentifyorinitiate anyout-of-scope worktotherespective FunctionalManagersandtheProgramManager
  • Responsiblefor assessingand preparingallCIP to identifyanychangestoworkstatement orscopeofwork,aswellascoordinateCIP approvalswith thePM.
  • Leadrespectiveengineeringteamsindevelopingsolutionsandcompletingeachengineeringdesignbasedondefined requirementsusingapprovedprocessesandtools.
  • Lead of itsrespectivegrouptoassureproperintegration/coordinationtoengineeringdesignsbetweendifferentfunctionalengineeringgroups(EE/ME/Cert/Stress/Flam/TechPub/TestEngineer/MFGEngineer)andtheengineeringaspectforstakeholders.
  • IdentifyalltechnicalrisksleadingtoscheduleorcostimpacttoProgramManager andworkaroundtheriskinatimelymannerifnecessary.
  • Identifypotentialworkstoppagesaccordingtodiscipline(EE/ME/Cert/Stress/Flam/TechPub/TestEngineer/MFGEngineer)andescalatewhennotresolvableatprojectfocallevel.
  • Forecastprojectworkloadand assignappropriateresources.
  • Participate/Conduct meeting/PreparationforITCM,PDR&CDRoranytechnical meetingswithcustomer.
  • Toleadtherespectivetechnicalengineeringgroups(EE/ME/Cert/Stress/Flam/TestEngineer)deliverablesandschedule.FunctionalManagerstobeanswerabletoproject deliverablesandschedule,whileholdingfunctionalmanagersaccountabletoprojectschedule,budget,anddeliverables.
  • ResponsibleforthesubstantiationdocumentsinsupportofprojectdesignimplementationaswellassupportingtheDSCtouploadthisdatatoAirbus,Boeingand/orairline customerasdefinedintheintegratedschedule.
  • Understandsandimplementsregulatorycertificationrequirementsintothedesignpackages.
  • Responsibletofillup/update ofallEAMR/CFE /BFE listing.PEtoapprove theEAMR/ CFE/BFElisting.
  • Troubleshootsallengineeringproblemsandfindingsolutionsincompletingprojecttechnicaldifficulties.
  • Managing engineeringhours’consumption orallocationof hourstoproject technicalwillberesponsiblebyrespectiveFunctionalManagers.
  • FunctionalManagerstoproviderequiredresourcesinsupport ofprojectwith inputfromProjectLeader(PM/PE/Lead).
  • Identifyitemsofpartswith longleadtimeand/orfind alternatepartsasreplacementandforfillingup/updatingofEAMR.
  • Developingandmanagingtheprojectengineeringdrawingtreesincollaborationwiththeleadengineersandengineeringsupervisors.
  • OverseeEngineeringandCertification testinganddirectCerttoarrangethetestfacilityaswellascoordinategettingtheparttothetestfacility.
  • Responsiblefor providingproject statusreportsandmetricsinconjunction with agreedandpublishedcadencetoengineeringand/orexecutivemanagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BSdegreeMechanicalEngineering,AerospaceEngineering

Atleast5yearsdirectengineeringexperiencewith commercialaircraftinteriormodificationSTCprojectsmustbefamiliarwithaircraft survey, designexperience relatedtoinstallation of aircraftinteriorsand IFEandorstructuralmodification.
