Job summary

Techtronic Cordless GP- TTIPE is seeking a Project Engineer II to join our Walk Behind Mower team in Anderson, SC. This role involves managing engineering contributions for new product development and leading design architecture to meet consumer-driven goals.

Ideal candidates will possess a BS in Engineering, preferably mechanical, and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include using design tools, validating specifications, and collaborating across functional areas.

Job description

TTI Techtronic Industries Power Equipment, a subsidiary of TTI, is seeking a Project Engineer II for our Walk Behind Mower Team in Anderson, SC.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering technical contributions on assigned new product development programs and support mature products.
  • Drive evolution of product function to meet consumer/value driven design guides and cost, timing, and reliability goals.
  • Lead using Concurrent Product Development philosophies to design product architecture suited for high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Provide overall direction and instructions to design team members for layout and technical data package development.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and select from design execution alternatives and validate that selected designs meet specification objectives.
  • Implement designs into mass production while managing critical dimensions, material selection, packaging, safety, regulatory and standards compliance.
  • Write general and detailed specifications (product, performance and testing).
  • Develop phase‑based prototype, development plan, engineering pilot plan and corresponding test program to prove technical concepts and design guide compliance.
  • Manage activities within model shop support and testing, conduct design and safety reviews, and gain necessary approvals for product development progression.
  • Check and approve technical data package; complete project documentation including Engineering Change Masters and Bills of Material.
  • Drive quality compliance related to project work.
  • Utilize appropriate design development tools and techniques including Value Analysis, FMEA, DOE, SPC, DFM, DFI, CAD analysis, fluid dynamics and 3D design tools.
  • Effective communication and willingness to share experience with younger engineers.
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering (mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience; MS degree considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise with design software (Solidworks and/or NX8.5).
  • Ability to communicate across all functional areas and internationally.
  • Self‑directed, initiative‑driven, and able to work independently.
  • Experience with international travel is desired; travel is required.
  • Mechanism experience preferred.
