Job summary

Sands Decker CPS, LLC in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our civil engineering team. You will work on challenging site development projects, perform technical design reviews, and coordinate with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, is eligible for Ohio PE licensure (or reciprocity), and offers 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Ohio PE License or reciprocity from another state.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in Civil 3D.
• Experience with site development projects.

Responsibilities

• Technical design and oversight: review calculations, 3D models, blueprints, and specs.
• Keep project work on schedule and within budget, following codes.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• PAY: $100,000-$120,000/per year, offer dependent on experience

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Full time
• First shift
• 8-hour shift
• Flexible schedule

The ideal candidate will have:

• BS in Civil Engineer or equivalent
• Ohio PE License or ability to secure an Ohio PE License via reciprocity from another state
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Must be proficient in Civil 3d
• Experience with Site development projects

Our Project Engineer will:

• Technical Design & Oversight: Review and approve calculations, 3D models, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Project Execution: Keep technical work on schedule, within budget, and compliant with industry codes like Ohio EPA, AWWA, etc.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a liaison between project managers, design teams, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
• Quality & Risk Control: Handle Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, first-article inspections, and root-cause analysis for technical issues.
• Stayingcurrentwith industry & regulatory standards
