Job summary

Sands Decker in Columbus, OH is seeking a Civil Design Technician to join our Civil Engineering team. The role focuses on producing site development drawings and coordinating with survey staff and contractors to meet project deadlines.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, strong teamwork, and the ability to navigate Ohio design standards. This full-time, on-site position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a background check and drug testing (Ohio Drug-Free Workplace).
• BS degree in Civil Engineering preferred but not required.
• Understanding of Ohio/state/local agency design and approval requirements.
• Ability to work with outside contractors/clients in a team atmosphere.
• Be a team player and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering drawings for site development including storm water drainage, sanitary sewers, waterlines, storm sewers, and supporting design information.
• Attend pre-design site visits/meetings with contractors and/or clients.
• Coordinate with other design and survey technicians.
• Visit sites to gather information relevant to the project.
• Utilize Civil 3D design software to complete project needs.
