Job summary

Billingsley Property Services II, Inc. in The Colony, Texas seeks a Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to closeout.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 1–5 years of experience in multifamily construction preferred.
  • Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and management of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Prepare, track, and process submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and constructability.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Support procurement efforts, including issuing purchase orders and tracking material logs.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify work quality, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, meeting minutes, and photo logs.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating for change orders and project modifications.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting.
  • Help enforce job site safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate QC/QA processes and inspections.
  • Assist in closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built drawings, and O&M manual compilation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, architects, and engineers to resolve issues promptly.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from construction through closeout. The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and management of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans

  • Prepare, track, and process submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and constructability

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services

Qualifications
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.

  • 1–5 years of experience in multifamily construction (entry-level candidates with relevant internships are encouraged to apply) preferred.

  • Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing

  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visit active construction sites, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in varying weather conditions

  • Ability to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification

  • Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
