Job summary

Paragon Water Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead cross-functional product development efforts in the water-treatment space.

You will apply engineering fundamentals, manage all phases, and drive milestones from concept to launch, coordinating with suppliers, QA, and purchasing. This role requires 4+ years in mechanical/electro-mechanical design and hands-on prototyping, with SolidWorks and MS Project proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
  • Led at least one major development project from concept to launch.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience in mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical design and project management.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency with MS Project scheduling.
  • Hands-on prototype, build and test in a laboratory environment.
  • Able to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Support Supply Chain VA / VE projects to optimize product costs.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to perform hand calculations to support design decisions.
  • Manage all project related details throughout all phases of the product development process.
  • Work interdepartmentally to track the required cross-functional activities.
  • Develop & maintain project schedules with milestones and drive projects to commitment dates.
  • Track and maintain project and product costs; ensure BOM and project budgets meet targets.
  • Work with purchasing, suppliers, and quality engineers to communicate requirements and ensure parts and products meet specifications and are approved.
  • Carry out risk mitigation plans when critical requirements are jeopardized.
  • Oversee pilot runs to ensure products are manufactured to meet test needs.
  • Oversee validation and approval processes to meet specs and regulatory listings.
  • Report project status summaries as needed.
  • Ensure products are released via ECR/ECO process.

Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Accreditation in Project management, DFSS and DFM
  • Experience in water treatment or fluid handling product launches
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
  • Experience having led at least one major development project from concept to launch
  • 4+ years of engineering experience developing new products involving mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical design and project management.
  • Experience with discipline specific design tools such as Solidworks
  • Proficiency with MS Project scheduling capabilities
  • Experience with hands-on prototype, build and test in a laboratory environment
  • Able to speak equally well to technical and non-technical audiences and present a professional image to customers and suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel (occasionally internationally), up to 10% of the time to commission or troubleshoot installed products at customer locations, support pilot runs, vendor part approvals, etc.
