TSR Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team supporting electric transmission and distribution infrastructure projects in New Jersey. The role emphasizes design, calculations, drawings, and field support for utility structures.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of civil/structural experience, P.E. licensure in NJ, and proficiency with PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, RISA, and STAAD.Pro. Travel to field sites will be required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of civil/structural engineering experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Experience performing complex structural and civil calculations and analyses.
• Experience preparing construction drawings for steel, aluminum, and concrete structures and foundations.
• Hands-on design and detailing of steel transmission structures (lattice towers, tubular poles).
• Experience with reinforcing drawings for existing structures and foundations.
• Knowledge of subsurface investigations and various geological conditions.
• Proficiency with structural software (PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, RISA, STAAD.Pro).
• Experience with foundation design tools (LPILE, GROUP, FAD Tools).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and MS Office.
• Active P.E. license in New Jersey.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites; valid driver’s license.

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our engineering team supporting electric transmission and distribution infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and structural engineering, particularly within utility infrastructure, and the ability to perform complex engineering analyses, lead design activities, develop construction drawings and calculations, and provide field construction support.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, evaluation, modification, and maintenance of transmission and distribution structures while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex civil and structural engineering calculations, evaluations, and analyses.
• Prepare construction drawings and design documentation for steel, aluminum, and concrete structures and foundations.
• Design and detail steel transmission structures, including lattice towers, tubular steel poles, and related structures.
• Develop reinforcement drawings and design modifications for existing structures and foundations.
• Perform structural design of underground duct banks and manholes.
• Lead and coordinate structural engineering design, modifications, alterations, and repair activities.
• Provide technical support during field construction activities and resolve engineering-related issues.
• Review engineering designs, evaluate technical practices, and provide recommendations to ensure design quality and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and engineering oversight to junior engineering professionals.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience, including design and field or resident engineering support on major infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex structural and civil engineering calculations and analyses.
• Experience preparing construction drawings for steel, aluminum, and concrete structures and foundations.
• Hands-on experience designing and detailing steel transmission structures, including lattice towers and tubular steel poles.
• Experience preparing structural and foundation reinforcement drawings for existing infrastructure.
• Knowledge of subsurface investigations and varying geological conditions.
• Experience with deep foundation design, including concrete caissons, driven piles, helical foundations, and steel vibratory caissons.
• Experience designing underground duct banks and manholes from a structural engineering perspective.
• Working knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and utility industry practices, including ASME, NESC, ACI, ASTM, and ASCE.
• Proficiency with structural engineering software such as PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, RISA, and STAAD.Pro.
• Experience with foundation design tools such as LPILE, GROUP, and FAD Tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in New Jersey.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record may be required where driving is an essential job function.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or additional specialized technical training.
• Experience preparing bottom-up engineering cost estimates.
• Familiarity with applicable transmission structure loading criteria, NESC requirements, and regional transmission planning and reliability standards.
• Knowledge of excavation stability, subgrade preparation, backfilling, thermal and electrical soil properties, and dewatering practices.
