Location: 423 Construction Main Office-San Jose
This position is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction and engineering activities, ensuring alignment with Graniterock’s Family Vision, Core Purpose, Core Values, Strategic priorities, and business objectives.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Comply with, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure “Safety before All Else.”
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports and assist with project financial forecasts.
- Manage operational tasks, including resource schedule updates, project schedule updates, quantity take-offs, material orders, and collaboration with project teams to develop work plans aligned with safety and quality requirements, and financial and scheduling goals.
- Understand and follow all contract documents, notifying the customer of any changed conditions or added work affecting project cost or schedule.
- Perform administrative project tasks such as reviewing/approving time cards, submittals, RFIs, owner/subcontractor correspondence, quantity tracking, maintaining as-built drawings, T&M tags, vendor invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and owner progress payment requests.
- Represent the company, project, or department during client and project meetings, ensuring effective communication and building constructive relationships with customers and subcontractors.
- Manage small to mid‑sized projects by meeting deadlines and cost expectations.
- Support construction planning, quality control, design, methods, documentation, and reviews to ensure job completion.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
- 4+ years in construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of CADD or similar program; HCSS HeavyJob.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawing, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the discipline.
- Ability to perform trigonometric calculations either manually or with a calculator.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Salary will be determined based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Ranges are aligned with market data and/or collective bargaining agreement rates.
