Job summary

RESPEC seeks a project engineer to join our San Antonio/Castroville team, focusing on water and wastewater design, project engineering, and client relationships. You will deliver high‑quality engineering solutions, mentor staff, and manage projects from concept to completion, coordinating with regulators and internal teams to ensure success.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration, and effective communication in a dynamic environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and distribution/collection systems.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, and GIS.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design plans, technical reports, and specifications
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a growing team
• Lead and manage water/wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through completion
• Develop project deliverables, permitting, bidding and construction administration
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure project success

RESPEC, seeks a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our Team in San Antonio or Castroville, Texas.

This role is ideal for a mid-level professional with a strong background in water and wastewater design, project engineering, and client relations. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions while collaborating with project teams and fostering client partnerships. Responsibilities include:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and distribution/collection systems

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

• PE License (or ability to obtain in Texas)
• Understanding of treatment processes

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the EPP after a qualifying period.
