Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking a Project Engineer for PCI Salt Lake City operations based in Salt Lake City, UT. This role supports project execution with labor control, submittals, takeoffs, scheduling, and QA/QC coordination.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of construction project experience, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team environment. Local to Salt Lake City preferred; OSHA certification and a related bachelor’s degree are pluses.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience supporting or managing construction projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills in technical job functions.

Responsibilities

• Labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
• Prepare RFIs and submittals.
• Perform takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders.
• Create and manage project schedules; coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.
• Create and manage punch lists and closeout documentation.
• Support QA/QC measures; assist in other duties as assigned.

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its PCI Salt Lake City operations based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
• Prepare RFI’s and submittals
• Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders
• Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen
• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation
• Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program
• Assist in other duties as assigned

This position is safety‑sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience supporting or managing construction projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
• Possess a clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned
• Strong customer service skills and relationship‑building abilities
• Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline preferred
• Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
• OSHA certification
• Local to Salt Lake City, UT area preferred
