Compensation

$48.25 - $53.00 / hour (hourly, non‑exempt)

Role Overview

Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a Project Engineer to join our Land Development Department. The role involves a variety of civil engineering projects performed on behalf of private and public sector clients. Under direction, a Project Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering tasks and may act as a supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or technical support staff. A Project Engineer may serve as a project manager on a single major project or several minor projects.

A Day in the Life
  • Performing or guiding the technical analysis of assigned projects and making sound decisions on technical problems and methods based on established engineering principles and supervisory guidance.
  • Assessing project requirements, defining objectives and constraints, developing budgets, performing feasibility studies, managing staff, and providing training and outside presentations as needed.
  • Developing project schedules, setting milestones, and coordinating tasks to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Monitoring project progress and compliance with approved scope, and acting as the point of contact for inquiries regarding the project.
  • Reviewing proposed changes for impact on the project design, budget, or schedule.
  • Preparing reports and presentations that provide raw technical data in a concise and comprehensive manner.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • Minimum of six years performing related engineering work, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, including Civil 3D, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) (required).
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, organize, and analyze engineering data, and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Proven capability to efficiently manage a variety of engineering functions, work effectively as part of an engineering team, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
