Job summary

Scull Construction Service, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical input to Project Managers and Supervisors, ensuring work complies with codes, drawings, and specs.

You will assist with estimates, schedule subcontracts, coordinate materials, and support with project progress analyses across multiple locations. The role includes on-the-job training in supervision, management, and estimating within construction, with career paths toward supervision or project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar discipline.
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization skills and effective verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, ProEst, Procore and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Detailed support and follow up for Scull Construction Project Managers, Superintendents and team members as required.
• Work with the construction team to assist in project completion.
• Manage cost reports, analyze budget variances and recommend strategies to lower project costs; review labor quantities and phases for accurate tracking.
• Responsible for management of special projects, as needed.
• Responsible for all document control of project(s).
• Primary quality control officer on project(s).
• Primary safety engineer on project(s).
• Track, prepare, review and approve shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, RFPs, ASIs and meeting minutes.

Job description

At Scull Construction, the Project Engineer will offer technical information to the Project Supervisor and Project Manager to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications. May coordinate change orders, expedite material and job site equipment, assist in the preparation of estimates and compile data to assist in analyzing project progress. Inspects all work to assure compliance with plans and specifications.

This position will work side by side with the Project Manager or Lead Estimator to facilitate communications and keep all stakeholders on task and informed. The Project Engineer will be involved in scheduling subcontractors and insuring correct and timely delivery of materials for multiple projects in multiple locations. Regular interactions will occur with subcontractors, suppliers, architects and owners.

As a Project Engineer you will be entered into a training program. The program will provide the individual with experience in the supervision, management and estimating curriculums within the construction industry. The goal of this training is to develop the individual to assume either the supervision or project management career track in the future.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar discipline
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organization skills, effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Work, Excel and Outlook), and the ability and desire to learn Primavera P6, ProEst, and Procore
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Other Requirements:

• Day and overnight travel may be required
• Ability to visit and traverse job sites on uneven terrain
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random employee pool drug/alcohol testing
• Must have a valid driver’s license
