Position Summary

The Project Engineer (PE) position at Murray Company is an entry‑level role that provides essential business and administrative support to project managers and field leaders in our commercial plumbing and mechanical divisions. As a Project Engineer, you will help plan, coordinate, and execute activities for assigned projects, ensuring that goals and objectives are met within the prescribed time frame and budget.

Location

Chandler, AZ with anticipated travel to designated project sites throughout the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning work schedules, determining manpower levels, and arranging assignment of project personnel.
• Support coordination of project personnel activities to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
• Advise Project Manager on potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties; help mitigate or resolve such issues as needed.
• Compose and edit letters, memos, reports, and procedural documents.
• Oversee day‑to‑day administrative tasks as authorized by supervisor.
• Prepare special reports, studies, and statistical analyses with minimal instruction; conduct research and interpret data.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Read printed and digital documents.
• Climb ladders, access trenches, attic spaces, or confined spaces as required.
• Hearing adequate to communicate in noisy environments.
• Recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
• Grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.

Compensation

$60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
