Job summary

Guided Search Partners in Philadelphia is seeking a Project Engineer/Coordinator to own NPD and sustaining projects from concept to end-of-life. You will develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and report to the Product Engineering Manager.

You will drive design activities, manage prototypes and tooling qualification, and coordinate with tooling vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery within budget. CI in design and manufacturing processes is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-6+ years' experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager in packaging.
• Strong preference to plastics manufacturing experience.
• Strong experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical owner for assigned NPD and sustaining engineering projects from concept through end-of-life.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; provide regular status updates to the Product Engineering Manager.
• Drive design activities including concept development, CAD modeling oversight, tolerance analysis, DFM, and formal design reviews.
• Manage prototype builds, tooling qualification, first-article inspections, and production launch readiness activities.
• Interface with tooling vendors and contract manufacturers to define requirements, review tool designs, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Support customer and internal design reviews, presenting technical solutions and project status at all levels of the organization.
• Identify and implement CI opportunities in product design, manufacturing processes, and cost reduction.
