Engineer / Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction
Location: Newtown, PA
Salary: $105,000 – $125,000

SkillForce is actively seeking a highly capable Engineer / Project Engineer with extensive experience in heavy civil construction, particularly in bridges, road repairs, and deep foundations. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering critical infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania.
Position Overview
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting complex heavy civil projects from pre-construction through closeout. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget—delivering reliable infrastructure that meets the highest standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead coordination and execution of bridge, highway, and roadway repair projects
Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
Design and review formwork, pour drawings, and major lift plans
Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specs and safety standards
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics
Assist in cost tracking and control, identifying variances and potential savings
Submit and manage change orders and claims
Foster communication between field staff, subcontractors, engineers, and clients
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of heavy civil construction experience, with a strong background in bridge and road work
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, and construction documentation software
Familiarity with DOT standards and construction safety practices
OSHA 10-Hour Certification
Marine or industrial infrastructure experience is a plus
Willingness to travel locally (within 1–2 hours)
