Descripción del empleo

DP Electric is a premier commercial electrical contractor with more than 30 years of experience delivering complex electrical projects across Arizona, Texas, and the Southwest. As a 100% employee-owned company, we serve a diverse range of markets including data centers, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, higher education, commercial, and industrial.

At the heart of DP Electric’s success is its dedication to cultivating industry-leading talent. Through our in-house training program, DP University, we equip employees with advanced skills and expertise to meet the ever-changing demands of modern construction. By combining technical excellence with a client-first approach, we continue to set the standard for electrical contracting in the Southwest.

The Opportunity

The Project Engineer keeps a project's documentation accurate and moving. You will own the change order and RFI logs, track submittals through the general contractor, drive closeout, and make sure what is on paper matches what the crews are building in the field.

You will sit at the center of the project team, connecting field leadership and project management with the owner, architect, and engineer on the other side. Depending on the work, you may support one large project or several smaller ones at once. In both cases the job is the same, which is getting people accurate answers before the lack of one slows the work down.

What You'll Do

Own the Documentation

  • Maintain change order logs so every project modification is tracked and documented accurately.
  • Establish and manage RFI logs, and drive inquiries through to resolution.
  • Track and review submittals, coordinating timely execution with the general contractor.
  • Manage the flow of RFIs, PCOs, and ASIs, and keep the record current for ongoing analysis.
  • Own end-of-project closeout documentation and deliver it on time.

Support the Field

  • Work with field leadership to keep plans and field execution aligned.
  • Uphold quality assurance and monitor adherence to project specifications through the project lifecycle.
  • Resolve technical inquiries and get field crews accurate information quickly.

Coordinate and Communicate

  • Support communication with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Promote open collaboration among project stakeholders to keep the jobsite cohesive.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in construction coordination or a related role.

Preferred

  • Experience in a technical support role on construction projects.
  • Familiarity with change management workflows, RFIs, submittals, and construction specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, or AutoCAD.

We recognize that experience comes from many paths. An equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in successful performance of the job is welcomed. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis, or vice versa.

This role is based in the office with regular visits to active jobsites. Work is primarily at a desk and on a computer, with occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Jobsite visits require personal protective equipment and bring exposure to noise, dust, and weather. Expect a fast-paced environment with concurrent deadlines that calls for accuracy under time pressure.
