E2 Consulting Engineers, LP in Pasadena seeks a Project Engineer to coordinate design deliverables for a major electric utility client, including substation layouts, drawings, and BOMs.

The ideal candidate has a BE in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years of substation design experience, and proficiency with MS Office; preferred PE certification and CAD/MicroStation familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-approved college or university.
• 8+ years of experience in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design deliverables including general arrangement drawings, electrical equipment plan & elevation drawings, conduit & grounding drawings, relay house layout and bill of materials.
• Provide guidance and collaborate with substation Physical Design and P&C activities to ensure quality before review by Lead Engineer.
• Ensure all designs conform to client and industry standards and coordinate activities with project team.
• Utilize client/company information systems to track and update design activities.
• Participate in or lead site meetings to gather scope and respond to RFIs during construction.

Overview

E2 is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in our Pasadena office to support one of the largest electric utility clients. The successful candidate will be responsible to coordinate design deliverables including general arrangement drawings, electrical equipment plan & elevation drawings, above & below grade conduit & grounding drawings, relay house layout and complete bill of materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and collaborate substation Physical Design and P&C activities including drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
• Provide guidance and collaborate activities to ensure the quality of work before it is presented to Lead Engineer for review.
• Ensure all designs conform to our client’s and industry standards.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with lead engineer and/or project manager.
• Utilize client and/or company information system to track and update design activities.
• Participate/lead job site meetings to gather scope of work.
• Participate/lead in answering Request for Information (RFI) during project construction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET approved college or university.
• 8+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm
• Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Basic written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Professional Engineer Certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with substation design and construction standards for Southern California Edison.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Experience with Primavera P6

Wage Data Per State Requirements

This position will pay between $160,000 and $185,000, depending on experience and skill set.
