Job summary

Astronautics Corporation of America has a Project Engineer opening at our Oak Creek, WI headquarters. This individual contributor role provides technical leadership over avionics and displays product designs, guiding cross‑functional teams through development, verification, and certification.

You will serve as the primary technical contact for customers and internal stakeholders. You will partner with the Chief Engineer of Avionics Solutions to align roadmaps with market needs, manage schedules

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience in electronics product development.
• Minimum three years of project engineering experience.
• Experience in planning and executing engineering development projects, including staffing, schedule, budget, and risk management.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Project Engineer! In this individual contributor role, you will act as the technical lead over the design of new and existing products within our Avionics Solutions/Displays product families. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams focused on the design and manufacture of leading-edge avionics systems. You will serve as the technical point of contact both internally and with our customers, including the world’s most recognizable airframers.

This position is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI with the possibility of a hybrid schedule. You will report directly to the Chief Engineer of Avionics Solutions.

How You Will Do It:

• Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team comprising of electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and certification engineers.
• Lead project-level design reviews through development, including planning, architecture, implementation, verification, and certification.

What We Look For:

Required

Preferred

• Experience managing projects with formal project management tools (ie MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Experience in the design of avionics or other safety-critical systems.
• Experience in a safety-critical industry (i.e., Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices).
• Experience with ARP-4754, DO-160, DO-254, or DO-178.
