Job summary

TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Louisiana team, with base options in St. James or Norco. The role focuses on lift engineering, crane and rigging planning, and ensuring safety-first project execution on industrial sites.

Responsibilities include site visits, CAD-based drawings of crane systems, matting, and load configurations, and presenting lift plans to clients and field personnel. Strong collaboration with sales and operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Design Drafting, or related discipline.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software.
• Three years of crane/rigging planning experience preferred.
• Familiarity with refineries or chemical plants preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred; equivalent crane/rigging planning tools acceptable.

• Perform a job site visit to assess jobsite and review job scope with client.
• Utilize computer aided design software to draw the crane, matting, rigging, load, and jobsite.
• Determine the proper crane size, type and configuration.
• Determine the proper rigging size, type and capacity.
• Determine the necessary matting to achieve an allowable ground bearing pressure.
• Assemble lift plan packets with all required details and drawings.
• Review the lift plan with client and field personnel performing the work.
• Relay all relevant job costs and pricing considerations to the sales and/or operations team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Design Drafting, or other related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered as a substitute.
• Experience with software in Microsoft Office suite.
• 3 years of experience in planning for cranes and/or rigging preferred.
• Familiarity with working in refineries and chemical plants preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred, equivalent experience with other crane/rigging planning software acceptable.
