Job summary

Bennett & Pless is seeking a Project Engineer in Nashville, TN to manage the full project cycle from design through construction administration. You will prepare analyses and drawings for review by leadership and coordinate cross-disciplinary inputs to meet client expectations.

The role requires licensure (PE/SE) with seismic experience, and proficiency in Revit and industry-standard software. Join a growing team that values collaboration and career growth.

Qualifications

  • PE or SE license.
  • BS with PE, MS with PE and/or SE.
  • 5–10 years experience in building design.
  • Active PE license, possibly in multiple states.
  • Seismic experience required.
  • Experience in Revit.
  • Experience with industry standard software including MS Office, Bentley RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and lead meetings with architects and contractors to ensure project success.
  • Secure new work from existing clients and contribute to proposal and RFI development.
  • Provide technical expertise and oversee the preparation of design calculations, construction documents, and submittals.
  • Coordinate cross-disciplinary information to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and quality standards.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for projects designed by others, when required.

What You Will Do

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our growing team out of our Nashville, TN office. Engineer would be responsible for entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion. This role will prepare engineering analyses and drawings for review by their leader.

Responsibilities

  • 5 to 10 years experience in building design
  • Active Professional Engineer license, possibly in multiple states
  • Seismic experience required
  • Experience in Revit
  • Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
Skills And Competencies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to completion.
  • Ability to identify applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required
  • Be self motivated and able to work within a team structure and independently.
  • Be willing to take ownership of all work performed.
