Job summary

Century Construction Group, Inc. in Nashville is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects in the Greater Nashville area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, project engineering, or project management.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Support project scheduling efforts to ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery.
  • Manage RFI process, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and owners to enable project success.
  • Assist with project cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
  • Process owner billings, change orders, purchase orders, and other project-related accounting activities.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with on-site management to monitor progress and quality.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is current and complete.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including warranties and as-built drawings.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager and team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, construction standards, and regulations.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our commercial construction projects in the Greater Nashville area. The ideal candidate will assist Project Managers and Superintendents with project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, and field operations.
