Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design and drafting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Design lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems with minimal direction.
• Prepare and develop electrical drawings, layouts, and construction documents.
• Perform CAD/BIM/Revit drafting and project engineering tasks.
• Develop and modify electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural disciplines.
• Review project drawings for accuracy and coordination.
• Apply electrical codes and standards to project designs.
• Participate in project coordination with internal and external teams.
• Communicate with clients as directed by leadership.
• Conduct site investigations to gather field information.
• Travel to project sites and meetings as required; travel expenses reimbursed.

Electrical Project Engineer / Designer / Drafter

Position Summary

We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative Electrical Project Engineer / Designer / Drafter to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electrical project engineering, design, and drafting responsibilities from project conception through completion. This position will be heavily involved in the design and development of electrical systems for a variety of project types, including K-12 schools, higher education, mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, and institutional facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design and drafting responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle, from conception through completion.
• Design lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems with minimal direction from a Principal or Senior Electrical Engineer/PE.
• Prepare and develop electrical drawings, layouts, and construction documents.
• Perform CAD/BIM/Revit drafting and project engineering tasks as assigned.
• Develop and modify electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Assist with electrical calculations, design development, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other project disciplines.
• Review project drawings and documents for accuracy, completeness, and coordination.
• Apply basic knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards to project designs.
• Participate in project coordination with internal and external teams.
• Communicate with clients occasionally as directed by the Senior Electrical Engineer or project leadership.
• Conduct job site investigations to gather field information and verify existing conditions.
• Travel to project sites and meetings as required for project execution and client development. Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed.
• Support senior engineers with project-related technical and design tasks.
• Maintain organized project files, drawings, and documentation.
• Meet project schedules, deadlines, and quality requirements.
• Perform other related engineering, design, and drafting duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of electrical design and drafting experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for building projects.
• Experience with lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Experience with SKM Power Tools, particularly:
  • Revit 2025/2026
  • AutoCAD 2026
  • BIM 360
  • EnergyPro 10 - Title 24 compliance
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong understanding of electrical design and drafting principles.
• Basic familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal and external teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
