Job summary

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Project Engineer in Milwaukee, WI for a full-time direct hire. Lead cross-functional teams from quoting through production launch, supporting medical device and component manufacturing.

Manage multiple projects with a focus on technical excellence to meet production objectives. The ideal candidate holds a mechanical/plastics engineering degree and 3+ years in plastic manufacturing, with strong communication and proficiency in Excel/Word; IQMS ERP

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Plastics.
• 3+ years of experience in plastic manufacturing.
• Excellent communication to represent the company to customers and suppliers.
• Fundamental computer skills including Excel and Word; ERP familiarity (IQMS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review part designs, drafts, side-actions, and shutoffs.
• Review mold designs, tooling and construction basics.
• Apply medical molding experience including HCR, Gum Silicone, and Liquid Silicone molding.
• Utilize injection molding experience (thermoplastic/thermoset) as a plus.
• Implement APQP and good manufacturing processes.
• Conduct DOEs and capability studies; manage automation and secondary operations.
• Manage multiple projects with timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manage project budgets.
• Ensure PPE compliance (safety equipment).

Job description

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Project Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves leading cross-functional teams from the quoting stage through to production launch, supporting sales strategies in medical device and component manufacturing. The Project Engineer will manage multiple projects with a focus on technical excellence to achieve production objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Review part designs, including drafts, side-actions, and shutoffs.
• Understand tooling, mold features, and construction basics to review mold designs.
• Apply medical molding experience, including High-Consistency Rubber, Gum Silicone, and Liquid Silicone molding.
• Utilize thermoplastic and/or thermoset injection molding experience as a plus.
• Implement good manufacturing processes and advanced quality planning (APQP).
• Employ Design of Experiments (DOEs), capability studies, "Steel Safe/Tolerance Safe" concepts, automation concepts, and manage secondary operations.
• Manage multiple projects with sound organization skills and effective timeline management.
• Coordinate with multiple suppliers and manage project budgets effectively.
• Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields is used.

Qualifications:

• An engineering degree in Mechanical or Plastics.
• 3+ years of experience in plastic manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills to represent the company to customers and suppliers.
• Fundamental computer skills, including business software like Excel and Word, and familiarity with ERP systems, preferably IQMS.
