The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project.This position also works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure theproper implementation of project elements.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Completing due diligence and site investigation
- 2. Site and infrastructure design including street plans (plan & profile, cross-sections, etc.), grading anderosion control plans, stormwater management facilities, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution systems, and storm sewer systems
- 3. Quantity take-offs and cost estimates
- 4. Preparation of specifications
- 5. Preparation of permit applications
- 6. Construction administration and observation
- 7. Assist in the development of plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 2. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other civil engineering design tools
- 3. Ability to work well independently or on a team
- 4. Knowledge of construction activities
Education and Experience
- 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
- 2. Previous intern or co-op experience in the civil industry is preferred
- 3. 1-2 years of civil engineering experience is preferred
License or Certification Requirements
- 1. Professional Engineer License (PE) for the State of Wisconsin is preferred
Physical Requirements
- 1. This position requires sitting at a desk and working at a computer for a long period of time
- 2. Some work may include fieldwork
- 3. This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
PPE Requirements
- 1. Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary
