Job summary

Palatial Concrete, Ltd. invites applications for an entry level Construction Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager. Responsibilities include BIM modeling, AutoCAD-based rebar and concrete layout drawings, and coordination with the GC and site team.

The role requires familiarity with concrete construction, reading contracts and specs, and communicating with suppliers. 1–3 years of relevant experience is acceptable and an Associate degree is required.

Qualifications

• Entry level position; familiarity with concrete construction projects and job sites required.
• 1 to 3 years of experience acceptable; relevant exposure is a plus.
• Associate degree or equivalent required; bachelor’s or master’s is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model and coordinate BIM with the general contractor.
• Read and understand project contracts and specs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and collect data sheets for submittals.
• Create rebar shop drawings in AutoCAD.
• Create concrete layout drawings in AutoCAD.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and inform management.
• Communicate RFIs with the job site team.

Responsibilities as Construction Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager are similar to draftsmen:

• Responsible for BIM modeling and coordinating with GC
• Read and understand the contract and specifications of projects
• Communicate with suppliers and collect product data sheets for submittal
• Create rebar shop drawings per structural drawings using AutoCAD
• Create concrete layout drawings per structural and architectural drawings using AutoCAD
• Recognize discrepancies between drawings and notify management
• Communicate with job site team members to convey and document their Request For Information

Required Work Experience:

• This is an entry level position, familiarity with concrete construction projects and job sites are necessary. 1 to 3 years of experience is acceptable.

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge in computer and office equipment is required
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products specially Word and Excel is required
• Advanced knowledge in 2D modelling with AutoCAD for construction is required
• Advanced knowledge in 3D modelling with Revit for concrete is required
• Advanced understanding of design drawings i.e. Architectural, Civil, Structural drawings is required

Education:

• At least an Associate degree related to buildings, construction, architecture or engineering is required. Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant fields is a plus.
