Capital Paving & Construction (CPC) is seeking a Project Engineer in Missouri to collaborate with CPC construction professionals, ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery through schedule management and field coordination.

The role requires travel, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication. Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software is preferred, with a full-time, benefits-eligible position on offer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Willingness and ability to travel and pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Safety Director and Superintendent to exceed safety expectations on site.
• Prepare and submit construction submittals for project conformance.
• Review and communicate plans/drawings for project compliance with policies and permits.
• Coordinate work methods with Superintendent and Foreman to align with procedures and best practices.
• Build, maintain, and communicate project schedule with Field Superintendents, Foreman, and peers.
• Organize and oversee construction processes to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Understand the contract, subcontracts, plans, and specifications.
• Coordinate/subs and material scheduling as directed by the Project Manager.

Capital Paving & Construction (CPC) is a heavy highway and civil construction company. We are looking to hire a Project Engineer in Missouri. This position will be an excellent opportunity to learn about many aspects of construction by working with experienced CPC construction professionals to ensure the project is successfully delivered. This position requires extensive travel and deployment based on project location.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Safety Director and Superintendent to ensure company and client safety expectations are exceeded on site.Prepare and submit construction submittals for project conformance.Review, understand and communicate plans/drawings to ensure complete project compliance with policies, regulations, laws and permits.Coordinate work methods with Superintendent and Foreman to ensure all operations are conducted in alignment with company procedures and best management practices.Adjust and troubleshoot work methods as needed to maintain project quality and schedule.Build, maintain, and communicate project schedule through collaboration with Field Superintendents, Foreman, and peers.Organize and oversee construction processes and ensure they are completed on time and on budget.Have thorough and complete understanding of the contract, subcontracts, plans, and specifications.Correspond daily or as needed with onsite company personnel and customers.Coordinate/schedule subs and material or coordinate with foreman/superintendent to schedule as directed by the Project Manager.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.Entry Level to 5 years’ experience.Demonstrates enthusiasm for seeing projects take shape, has construction knowledge, and strong attention to detail.Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.Extensive experience in Microsoft Office preferred.Experience with Critical Path Scheduling software preferred (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.)Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.Willingness and ability to travel.Valid driver’s license required.Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings: physical, drug, and background.Physical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.
