Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager and Sr. Project Engineer with planning and daily execution of construction projects in Jacksonville, FL.

You will help manage submittals, materials delivery, and schedules while supporting quality, profitability, and our Zero Harm safety culture. The role requires a Construction Management degree and a six-month co-op experience, plus proficiency with PC and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management or related degree.
• Six-month intern/co-op experience with a construction company.
• Proficient with PC and MS Office tools (Word/Excel/Office/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Sr. Project Engineer with planning and daily execution.
• Manage submittal approvals and material deliveries.
• Maintain project schedules and budgets to ensure quality and profitability.
• Support project start-up, scheduling, administration and close-out.
• Promote customer relations and ensure safety culture.

Summary

The Project Engineer is an entry-level position that assists the Project Manager and Sr. Project Engineer with the planning and daily execution of the construction project. Responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule, as assigned by the Project Manager, by managing the process of submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining schedules and budgets to ensure projects are completed with quality, profitability, and while complying with our Safety/Zero Harm culture.

Minimum Requirements

• B.S. (Construction Management or related degree)
• One six-month intern co-op with a construction company
• Proficiency in using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)

Preferred Experience

• One to three years of previous working experience
• RFI
• Change orders
• Submittals

• Assisting with sub-contractor meeting minutes
