Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure in Angleton, TX is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, develop, coordinate and manage onsite construction engineering activities for heavy civil earthwork projects. The role requires collaboration with project teams to advance mass earthwork, concrete, and geo-technical components.

The candidate will initiate change orders, create CAD drawings, review plan changes and assist in schedules and field personnel management.

Qualifications

  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.

Job description

Job is located in Angleton, TX and is a fully on-site position.

Summary

The Project Engineer in this role is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction engineering activities for large, extensive projects in the heavy civil earthwork construction industry, encompassing mass earthwork, structural concrete, and varying geo technical components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiate and negotiate change orders.
  • Generate CAD drawings and present solutions to owners for design problems that arise in the field.
  • Review plan changes
  • Assist with work plans.
  • Assist with project schedules.
  • Manage and negotiate subcontracts.
  • Assist in division field personnel management.
  • Assist in survey layout and model development
  • Assist field personnel in any capacity to handle any problems that may arise.
  • Work with Project Superintendents, Foreman, and Crews to perform work more effectively.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings.
Requirements
  • Travel and relocation throughout Texas required for this position
  • Strong work ethic
  • Able to multitask and work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
Education and Experience
  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
