Job summary

NOV is seeking a Project Engineer in Houston to drive field engineering projects from planning through closeout. You will work with design teams, prepare quotations, and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors while monitoring project scope and progress.

The role requires collaboration, risk management, and adherence to processes to ensure on-time delivery and quality. Travel to job sites will be expected as needed, with PMP preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits.
  • PMP preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in project planning and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage field engineering projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Adhere to standardized field engineering processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate on project quotations and customer submissions.
  • Plan and execute projects including PEP creation and PO management.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Monitor and control projects, manage risks and changes.
  • Maximize gross margin through accurate costing and forecasting.
  • Identify and manage critical path activities, developing contingency plans.
  • Visit job sites and customer offices as needed, ensuring effective communication.
  • Oversee project closeout, including customer confirmations, invoicing, and post-project reviews.

  • Identify and manage critical path activities, developing contingency plans.
  • Visit job sites and customer offices as needed, ensuring effective communication.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of field engineering processes and global operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proficiency in project planning, risk assessment, and change management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Willingness to travel for job site visits and customer engagements.
  • PMP Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
