Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is hiring an onsite Project Engineer to support industrial projects focused on Water and Wastewater plant construction in the Greenfield/Fort Wayne market.

You will plan, develop, coordinate and manage on-site construction engineering activities as part of the project team. Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering or construction management degree with 2–3 years of heavy industrial experience, strong communication skills and PE registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 2-3 years of similar construction engineering experience in Heavy Industrial projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.; understanding interdependence between functional units.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Industrial projects.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for construction planning and design; interpret designs and apply construction methods; resolve design conflicts.

Job Description:

Working onsite with the Project Team to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Industrial projects - primarily Water/Wastewater Treatment plant construction focused in the Greenfield/Fort Wayne market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including personnel planning and administration, work assignments, disciplinary actions, etc.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of deign conflicts; contractibility reviews, etc.
• Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents (submittals, RFI's, expediting material deliveries, payment of Subcontractors/Vendors and Owner pay requests).
• Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
• Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
• Oversee all pre-construction services, design-build services, and business development for the project.
• Work withSuperintendent tocontroljobcostsand productionbudgets.
• Prepare andsubmit accurateandtimelymonthlycost,income, andcashflow projections.
• Execute and approvesubcontractorrequisitions and vendorinvoices.
• Coordinate,priceand assistProjectManagerin settlementofchangeordersandclaims.
• Respond to issues quickly;proactivein problemsolving;handlesmultiple tasks.
• Manage time andorganizes officeandfilingsystem efficiently; organizes andmaintains accurate projectcorrespondencefiles.
• Maintainsubcontractorinsurance certificatecompliance.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 2-3 years of similar construction engineering experience in Heavy Industrial projects.

Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred but not required.
