Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 2–3 years of heavy industrial construction engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions including planning and administration.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with contract requirements and support schedules (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for construction planning, design interpretation, and resolution of conflicts.
• Develop and administer project engineering procedures and submittals/RFI processes.
• Represent company during meetings with A/E, clients and project management.
• Interface on-site departments to resolve issues and maintain schedule.
• Oversee pre-construction, design-build services, and project business development.
• Coordinate, price, and assist in change orders and settlements.
• Prepare timely monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.

Job Description:

Working onsite with the Project Team to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Industrial projects - primarily Water/Wastewater Treatment plant construction focused in the Greenfield/Fort Wayne market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including personnel planning and administration, work assignments, disciplinary actions, etc.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of deign conflicts; contractibility reviews, etc.
• Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents (submittals, RFI's, expediting material deliveries, payment of Subcontractors/Vendors and Owner pay requests).
• Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
• Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
• Oversee all pre-construction services, design-build services, and business development for the project.
• Work withSuperintendent tocontroljobcostsand productionbudgets.
• Prepare andsubmit accurateandtimelymonthlycost,income, andcashflow projections.
• Execute and approvesubcontractorrequisitions and vendorinvoices.
• Coordinate,priceand assistProjectManagerin settlementofchangeordersandclaims.
• Respond to issues quickly;proactivein problemsolving;handlesmultiple tasks.
• Manage time andorganizes officeandfilingsystem efficiently; organizes andmaintains accurate projectcorrespondencefiles.
• Maintainsubcontractorinsurance certificatecompliance.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 2-3 years of similar construction engineering experience in Heavy Industrial projects.

Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred but not required.
