Job summary

Brindley Engineering Corporation is looking for a detail-oriented, reliable team player to assist in managing various engineering projects, located in Emeryville, California. The role entails supporting the Project Manager and coordinating across various engineering disciplines.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of consulting experience in oil & gas or related industries, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and strong organizational skills. A comprehensive benefits package is provided along with a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $125,000 annually.

Job Description

Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player to assist in managing maintenance & reliability and capital projects. You may be assigned projects from award to closeout or projects at various stages of development. This position may reside at one of our client sites or from our office in Lisle, IL.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling assigned aspects of projects
  • Work hand in hand with Project Managers, various engineering disciplines, Estimators, Contractor Foremen and General Superintendents
  • Lead technical communication/coordination across all engineering disciplines, Clients, General Contractors, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Management Staff
  • Develop Scopes of Work for construction of engineered designs
  • Ensure projects follow scope and schedule
  • Process submittals from vendors through revision and equipment release
  • Lead client and contractor interface, schedule/attend meetings, and provide written reports
  • Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering preferred)
  • Experience: 5+ years of engineering consulting experience supporting the oil & gas, chemical, renewable energy & power, and manufacturing industries
  • Technical Skills: Scheduling and planning software experience preferred
  • Background in assisting project development and execution
  • Management: Experience leading small teams required
  • Other Skills: Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing projects

Client Site Requirements
  • Must possess physical mobility (on the ground and at heights)
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
  • May be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate fall protection
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots)
  • May be required to position yourself to work in confined spaces
  • May be required to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
  • May be required to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
Pay Range

$90,000 - $125,000 annually. The above pay range represents a general guideline; however, Brindley considers several factors when determining base salary that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, certifications, specific work location, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans in addition to base pay to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results.
