Job summary

Hathaway Partners in Elyria, OH is seeking a Project Engineer on its Equipment Division to drive new product development from concept to production. You will work hands-on with prototypes and wiring, and use SolidWorks to create models and drawings.

The role involves design reviews, DFMEAs, testing, and coordination with R&D, Quality, Production and Purchasing to bring reliable equipment to market.

Qualifications

• Assist with assembly of new product builds.
• Resolve issues with teams; support QA, Production, and Purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

An established OEM of Construction Tools & Equipment has an opening on the Engineering team for its Equipment Division. The Project Engineer will primarily be responsible for new product development and support existing products, as needed. This role uses extensive knowledge and experience to manage projects from concept through production, is responsible for making advanced design judgements and decisions, and is hands on in prototype and pilot builds including mechanical and wiring needs.

Job Summary

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Design & engineer new equipment for the construction industry as well as support and upgrade existing products.
• Works in SolidWorks to create 3-D models, drawings, schematics, and assemblies.
• Responsible for all ratings, calculations, FEA's, etc., as typical.
• Works with manager to refine project scope and final product definition.
• Confirms engineered product performance by developing and executing tests.
• Facilitates Concept/Design Reviews, DFMEAs, DFA's/DFMs, etc. as required.
• Prepare project deliverables and technical updates for Stage Gates in the development process.
• Assists R&D Tech in assembly of new product builds
• Resolves issues and conflicts as they arise, communicating effectively with others
• Support Quality, Production and Purchasing on product and component issues as needed
• Complies with all policies and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned
