Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to join our Aviation PM/CM West Team in Denver, CO. The role involves assisting the Project Manager from end to end, coordinating schedules, budgets, and quality across aviation projects.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of related experience, a ABET-accredited degree in civil/architectural/construction management, and basic computer skills. You must be able to work outdoors in varying conditions and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management from ABET-accredited college/university.
  • Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • EI or EIT certification strongly preferred, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager in end-to-end project delivery across aviation projects.
  • Perform quality control checks and review computations/drawings for accuracy.
  • Assist in developing or reviewing project schedules and estimates.
  • Coordinate operations to ensure policy and procedural compliance.
  • Review shop drawings and assist in progress reporting and recordkeeping.
  • Observe construction activities and document field reports, submittals, and safety observations.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Aviation PM/CM West Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Denver, CO.

Your Role
  • Assist Project Manager in project delivery from end to end - Oversee scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk across aviation projects.
  • Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
  • Assist in the development or review of project schedules and/or estimates
  • Coordinates operation within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
  • Participate in projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe relatively simple construction procedures.
  • Observe and document construction activities in accordance with contract requirements, such as: field reports, quantity tracking for payment reports during progress of work, construction submittals and memos, civil rights compliance reports, and more.
  • Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions, and advises internal project manager and/or owner of any failures or delays.
  • Follows all applicable safety protocols while onsite, including requirements established by contract documents, client standards, and internal policies, and promptly reports observed hazards or concerns.
About You
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Completion of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain certifications in applicable areas of work as required by clients.
  • Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl to inspect work; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain, equipment/traffic, and other hazards.
  • Position may require non‑standard work shifts, such as overtime hours, weekend shifts, and/or night shifts as per the client's and/or manager's direction.
  • Position requires driving company vehicle. Incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
  • PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: E.I. or E.I.T. is highly preferred, or ability to obtain.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $70,000 - $85,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
