Job summary

Tract is seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale civil infrastructure initiatives across the United States. You will assist in the design, engineering, and construction of commercial/industrial land development projects, coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of post-education experience in site development, grading, drainage, and utilities, with strong communication and detail orientation to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or 5+ years in construction management without a degree.
  • 3+ years of managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects incl. site development, grading, drainage, utilities.
  • Proficient with project controls tools: P6, MS Office, Bluebeam, Autodesk.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and development of site layout, grading, road design, and utilities.
  • Manage construction processes, safety reporting, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and permits.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, review invoices, and maintain project files.

Overview

Tract is a team of digital infrastructure experts dedicated to accelerating responsible data center growth by developing master-planned data center parks with access to pre-positioned power and fiber in key markets where hyperscale and wholesale demand is going. Position Overview

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled Project Engineer who possesses expertise in supporting large-scale civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will join our growing team and facilitate successful developments throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of post-education experience in the management of design, engineering, and construction of commercial/industrial land development projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of projects, including site layout, grading, road design, stormwater management, wet and dry utility layouts and other related aspects.
  • Manage tasks throughout the construction process, inclusive of safety reporting, submittals, RFIs, change orders, design reviews, permitting, and general activities required to support development
  • Coordinate internal alignment on project document reviews, cost optimization exercises, contract issuances and design modifications
  • Assist construction manager in reviewing monthly invoices and preparing monthly financial updates and forecasts
  • Manage and maintain internal project file storage
  • Administer project closeout requirements and turnover documentation
  • Perform constructability reviews for infrastructure projects being recommended during due diligence phase.
  • Work with contractors to develop and implement appropriate quality and safety plans in accordance with local regulations.
  • Preparation of requests for proposals and associated contract issuance
  • Effectively communicate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction to identify and obtain necessary permits. Manage contract scope, schedule, and budget of design consultants and contractors to ensure permit approvals.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR 5+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) on multiple large projects associated with construction and project execution.
  • 1+ years of managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including site development, grading, drainage and utilities.
  • Proficient working knowledge of P6, MS Suite, Bluebeam, Autodesk, and other construction management softwares
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred background in data center construction
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and construction practices for major site utilities infrastructure (electrical, water, fiber, etc)

  • Strong written communication skills including internal reports / memos and verbal communication skills including presentations to senior leaders and board members

Expected Salary Range

$100,000-$120,000 plus Bonus
