Overview

CAES by Honeywell is seeking a Project Engineer to join the San Diego team. The Project Engineer II/III serves as the main engineering point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, and Quality to ensure smooth operations and resolve technical issues. This customer-facing role involves preparing engineering proposals, defining and reviewing project requirements, monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget, and conducting lifecycle reviews from development through production transfer. The role also involves performing technical studies to analyze and refine project requirements.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in projects including R&D, new product development, redesign, and sustained production programs.
  2. Manage RF subsystem development, overseeing all relevant technical disciplines.
  3. Proactively resolve integration issues among engineering disciplines.
  4. Develop and manage multi-function program teams, representing customer and business interests.
  5. Act as the primary technical interface with customers and other departments.
  6. Work with management to identify and mitigate design risks.
  7. Interface with executive and program management leadership on design execution.
  8. Assist in developing project planning documents such as schedules, test plans, and resource plans.
  9. Work closely with management to adhere to schedules and budgets, being accountable for P&L.
  10. Ensure customer and product requirements are systematically translated into system solutions.
  11. Provide metrics supporting customer SDRLs and internal leadership.
  12. Maintain project schedules, provide inputs for EAC, and manage resource requests.
  13. Lead technical direction, trade studies, design reviews, and anomaly resolution teams.
  14. Perform functional and timeline analysis, requirements allocation, and interface studies.
Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 2 years of Project Engineering experience
  • Experience in design and development
  • Knowledge of technical standards and problem-solving techniques
  • Negotiating, proficiency, and conflict resolution skills
  • Eligibility for US export-controlled technology access and security clearance
Preferred:
  • 5+ years of Project Engineering and engineering experience
  • Active DoD Security Clearance
  • Expertise in RF/Microwave subsystem design
  • Experience with space-flight systems and standards

Salary Range: $81,764 - $155,443 annually (San Diego, CA). Benefits include health insurance, 401K, paid holidays, and more.
