Job Summary

Northeast-Western Energy Systems USA, LLC, a division of INNIO, is looking for a senior field project manager to join the team. Working as part of our engineering team you will be responsible for field and engineering support for continuous duty and standby power generation systems inclusive of electrical and mechanical equipment. This position provides technical support to engineers, field installation support and coordination, commissioning and field testing.

Education and Experience
  • Project management or project execution experience
  • Extensive prior experience with cogeneration, combustion engines and power plants
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S Permanent Resident status
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Good problem-solving skills

A Minimum Of Twelve (12) Years’ Experience With
  • Electrical and mechanical equipment and component and systems regarding design, programming, operations and/or commissioning with engines, generators, pumps, boilers, gases, piping, power generation systems, switchgear, motor control centers, relays, transformers, surge suppression, etc.
  • Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation system operations and/or commissioning with engines, generators, boilers, and process control systems
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Managing a high workload: Multi-tasking, multi-organizing, delivering contributions with multiple projects with sometimes conflicting resource requirements
  • Direct involvement with moving mechanical systems and energized electrical circuits
  • Ability to understand single lines, P&ID, process schematics, and flow charts
  • Strong industrial power background
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, operating systems and internet communications
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with industrial computer systems, PLCs and DCSs
  • Direct involvement with moving mechanical systems and energized electrical circuits
  • Interpreting electrical single lines, point to point wiring lists, and mechanical: electrical interfaces
  • Modbus and OPC communications

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work independently and as part of a team to oversee/validate installation of power plant equipment and systems.
  • Understand control, instrumentation, and automation concepts and technologies for engines, electrical generators, switchgear, transformers, surge suppressors, grounding systems, compressors, pumps, boilers, heat recovery equipment and emissions control devices.
  • Assist customers, engineers, and contractors with electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment through stages of project development, installation, field start-up, training, and on-going customer support.
  • Coordinate and oversee plant pre-start activities, commissioning, required field testing and punchlist item rectification through commercial operation.
  • Assist project engineers in developing technical documents, solutions and confirming installation conditions to match the required plant configuration
  • Mentor, train and provide guidance to junior project managers, technicians, project engineers and commissioning agents
  • Perform mechanical and electrical modifications, installation of equipment based on scope of supply and work necessary to drive on budget and schedule project completion
  • Be the positive face of the company to the customer
