Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in Atlanta, GA to lead complex electrical and mechanical projects from proposal to completion. You will liaise with customers and internal teams in a regulated manufacturing setting, driving schedules, budgets, and quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, problem solving, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to achieve project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years in project engineering or PM within manufacturing.
  • Experience reviewing electrical schematics, drawings, and specs.
  • Strong scheduling and resource planning experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from order acceptance through completion, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to customer requirements.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, milestones, resource plans, and project documentation.
  • Conduct customer project reviews and provide ongoing project updates.
  • Prepare cost estimates for electrical systems, control systems, fabricated assemblies, refurbishment projects, and field service work.
  • Review RFQs, engineering drawings, electrical schematics, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Calculate labor, material, subcontractor, and overhead costs for project proposals.
  • Support proposal development, pricing strategies, and technical bid reviews.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales teams.
  • Evaluate project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Review test plans, test reports, nonconformance reports, and corrective action documentation.
  • Support contract execution, project closeout activities, and invoicing documentation.

A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Project Engineer to support complex engineered product and customer-driven projects in a highly regulated environment. This role will be responsible for managing projects from proposal and estimating through execution and completion while serving as a key liaison between customers, engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Cost Estimating
  • Experience reviewing electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Strong project scheduling and resource planning experience
  • ERP system experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nuclear industry experience
  • NQA-1 knowledge
  • NRC regulatory experience
  • ASME experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience with fabrication, machining, welding, NDE, heat treatment, and material traceability
