Description

Project EH&S Manager

This position is based in our Charleston, SC area.

As a Project EH&S Manager, you are Samet’s safety leader on the ground in the Charleston region — responsible for the health and safety of every worker, trade partner, client, and member of the public on our job sites. You’ll administer the project Site Safety and Incident Prevention Program, serve as the trusted technical resource for project teams, and hold the line on compliance and culture.

Your mission is straightforward: make sure every team member, trade partner, client, and community member goes home safely, every single day. You’ll set the tone for our safety culture and deliver it The Samet Way — with rigor, follow-through, and genuine care for the people behind the work. If you want to own safety at the project level for a growing firm, this is where you do it.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide clear, confident safety leadership on assigned job sites across the region.
  • Maintain rigorous compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Train Associates and subcontractors on critical safety topics.
  • Lead safety orientations with trade partners and subcontractors that set the tone for our safety culture.
  • Facilitate meaningful safety meetings and enforce safety standards with accountability.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Receive, review, file, and document safety submittals with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Provide expert guidance to subcontractors when they need support.
  • Serve as the go‑to technical resource and trusted advisor for the project team.
  • Build client and internal‑customer confidence by exceeding expectations, solving problems quickly, and following through on commitments.
What You Bring
  • OSHA 30‑Hour and/or 500‑Hour Construction Safety Training Certification.
  • Proven experience in safety management within the general construction industry.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and trade partner community.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
Additional Requirements

Physical Demands: A field‑intensive role with regular time on active construction sites and periodic office work.
