THE OPPORTUNITY: Project Director (HVAC)
As a Pre-Construction Manager you will have the opportunity to use your skills to work on hospitals, laboratories and large industrial projects. You must have a desire for a career in estimating, buy-out, procurement, detailed submittal documentation and an ability to manage others.
Responsibilities
- Support project opportunities in hospitals, laboratories and large industrial projects.
- Develop estimating, buy-out and procurement activities; produce detailed submittal documentation and manage other team members.
- Supervise craft in a self-perform environment.
- Monitor production and control costs.
- Assist with schedules, cost control, procurement, and quality/safety during project execution.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in HVAC/MEP/Mechanical Commercial Industrial and Institutional Construction with a background in plumbing and advanced plumbing systems.
- Past project size should exceed $5 million.
- Must demonstrate experience and capability for monitoring production and controlling costs.
- Familiar with management controls (schedules, cost control, procurement, quality/safety) during project execution.
- Past personal experience as a crafts person in the mechanical trades is required; previous/past professional licensing is a plus.
Desired Requirements
- Must have demonstrated experience of managing others.
- 5-15 yrs+ experience in HVAC/MEP/Mechanical Commercial Industrial and Institutional Construction with a background in mechanical process piping and advanced plumbing systems.
- Dedicated, self-motivated with good verbal and people skills.
- Demonstrate a stable work history.
- Experience in estimating in a hard bid market and developing accurate estimates from schematic design documents.
- Able to prioritize and work independently; willing to work all hours and schedules assigned.
