Job summary

Green Recruitment Company partnered with a global energy storage organization to lead a major utility-scale ESS project in Wisconsin. The role oversees commercial, operational, financial, and delivery performance, with a senior leadership mandate across planning, budgets, and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in project/financial management, degrees in engineering, and proven leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams in EPC/renewables.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in project, program, business, or financial management
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with EPC contracts and renewable energy projects
• Background in utility-scale BESS / energy storage projects highly desirable
• MBA or additional commercial/business qualifications would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead overall project execution, strategy, and operational performance
• Develop and manage project plans covering resources, quality, communications, risk, and commercial strategy
• Oversee project budget, forecasting, financial performance, and cash flow
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary project team
• Manage relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Finance, Contract Management, Sourcing, Quality, and Operations teams
• Establish project priorities and drive performance against key KPIs
• Lead monthly project reviews and provide accurate financial and operational reporting
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and project best practices
• Support customer relationships and commercial/claims strategy
• Ensure strong compliance, quality, and EHS performance across the project

Job description

We are partnering with a global energy storage organization on a major utility-scale energy storage project and are looking to identify an experienced Project Director to lead the project through its next phase.

This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for the commercial, operational, financial, and project delivery performance of a major Energy Storage System (ESS) project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead overall project execution, strategy, and operational performance
