Project Development Manager – Energy & Data Center Infrastructure

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Posted by: root/edge | Talent Partners for Energy Transition & Infrastructure

We’re partnering with an innovative company operating at the intersection of renewable energy and digital infrastructure. With nearly 500 MW of data centers colocated with clean energy assets already online—and over 3 GW in the development and advisory pipeline—they’re scaling fast to meet the demands of AI and high-performance computing (HPC).

We're hiring a Project Development Manager to help lead that next phase of growth.

The Role

This is a high-impact position for a strategic and execution-focused developer ready to own the full lifecycle of utility-scale infrastructure projects. You’ll drive development activities across land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and financial diligence—working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

You’ll also support market strategy, guide project execution across multiple power markets, and play a key role in enabling the buildout of next-gen infrastructure solutions.

  • Lead project development from site selection through execution, navigating commercial, regulatory, technical, and environmental milestones.
  • Coordinate stakeholders including landowners, consultants, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Support internal systems, helping to scale operations through improved data management, collateral, and process design.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate new energy markets, assess regulatory structures, and guide siting strategies.
  • Engage cross-functionally with teams in sales, product, and operations to support strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience developing utility-scale renewable energy, storage, or digital infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated success managing development across multiple U.S. power markets
  • Strong understanding of PPAs, energy markets, and project finance fundamentals
  • Experience with land agreements, permitting, interconnection, and entitlements
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Knowledge of EPC processes and substation design
  • Experience in capacity/ancillary markets and/or with RTOs beyond ERCOT
  • Familiarity with Python, R, GIS tools, or modeling platforms
  • Interest in decentralization, digital infrastructure, and energy innovation

This company values autonomy, deep thinking, and rapid execution. They operate with a flat structure, encourage ownership, and challenge each other to perform at their best in work and life.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary + bonus + equity
  • 401(k) and full medical, dental, and vision
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Remote-first culture with regular company gatherings
