Purpose
The Project Development Engineer collaborates with Business Development Managers to identify potential projects, build client relationships, and accurately evaluate energy conservation measures, operational cost savings, and project costs.

Responsibilities

• Perform energy audits and evaluate findings.
• Propose efficiency solutions and develop project cost estimates.
• Assist in obtaining pricing from contractors and vendors.
• Conduct facility studies and energy audits to identify conservation opportunities.
• Analyze utility rates and consumption data.
• Evaluate existing building systems and calculate energy savings.
• Prepare bidding documents and assist in project costing.
• Design energy conservation measures and building upgrades.

Documentation & Bid Submission

• Document solutions and prepare bid proposals.
• Provide technical assistance and oversee work of engineers and external resources.

Technical Assistance & Quality Assurance

• Support project implementation and stay updated on relevant standards and regulations.
• Assist in certification processes like ENERGY Star.

Identify & Obtain New Projects

• Partner with Business Development Managers to qualify and develop new projects.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Technology preferred; PE registration is a plus.
