Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Designer or Project EIT, Roadway to join our Mid-Atlantic team. The position is available in Charleston, WV or Bridgeport, WV. You will work with a team delivering transportation design, ensuring compliance with standards and client expectations.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering and at least 3 years of roadway design experience, with proficiency in MicroStation V8i and Open Roads; AutoCAD familiarity is a plus, along with strong MS Office skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze engineering designs and specifications to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with project teams and communicate technical concepts effectively to achieve client expectations and project goals.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and completing projects, ensuring effective application of scope requirements, management of time, quality reviews, and effective communications with team members.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficient use of MicroStation V8i, Open Roads
• Ability to use or familiarity with AutoCad is a plus
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience and knowledge of AASHTO and WVDOH and/or VDOT design directives and specifications
• Experience and knowledge of WVDOH and/or VDOT roadway and right of way deliverables

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree
• Minimum of three (3) years of transportation design experience

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
