In the role of Project Designer - Public Realm / Transportation, you'll be responsible for:

  1. Leading multidisciplinary teams and performing research, visioning, conceptualization, layout, and detailing on architectural and urban design projects.
  2. Independently coordinating work of a multidisciplinary team through multiple phases of project development.
  3. Establishing owner/client and internal meetings, participating in reviews with various public agencies for code compliance and statutory reviews.
  4. Coordinating workload of various team members through multiple project phases to prepare and complete project documents including conceptual sketches, diagrams, renderings, technical drawings, and construction-ready packages.
  5. Reviewing architectural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
  6. Performing QA/QC, technical and design reviews, and writing/editing technical specifications.
  7. Achieving consensus with project stakeholders and incorporating changes into project documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • A minimum of 7 years experience preferred
  • Registered Architect in California
  • Experience in civic architecture, public spaces, urban design, aviation, rail, and multimodal transportation facilities
  • Interest or experience in sustainable design / LEED
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max (not required), Rhino, Grasshopper

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and related tools
  • Strong graphic presentation skills
  • Experience preparing architectural contract documents and specifications
