Project Designer (Architect I equivalent)

Elliott Architects is seeking to expand our team. We maintain a collaborative, design-focused practice that prioritizes the role of site and environment to create architecture that is an appropriate synthesis of client, place, and time. Our studio offers a team-oriented design environment where creativity, engagement, learning, and innovation are encouraged.

A Project Designer at our office works closely with an Associate or Partner on multiple projects, involved in documentation, presentation drawings, model building, and gaining knowledge through site visits, critiques, and discussions.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture
  • Experience with moderately complex design projects

Design Responsibilities:

  • Think creatively and critically
  • Contribute to and communicate design ideas, especially during schematic design
  • Produce CAD drawings for residential and small institutional or commercial projects
  • Incorporate sustainability into work
  • Translate concepts into functional designs with support from senior staff
  • Enhance knowledge and technical skills through continuing education

Technical Skills and Project Management:

  • Basic knowledge of construction materials and processes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; REVIT is a plus
  • 3D modeling and rendering skills in SketchUp or Rhino
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign for presentations
  • Physical modeling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines
