Job description

Project Room is a full-service, artist-run residential, commercial and interior design studio in Northeast Los Angeles. We are a small and supportive team and the studio values a work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Technical Work (60%):

  • Develop design concepts through schematic design and design development phases.
  • Produce construction documents including plans, sections, elevations, and details.
  • Coordinate drawings with consultants and resolve technical conflicts.
  • Conduct code research and zoning analysis.
  • Create 3D models and renderings for client presentations.
  • Perform site analysis and existing conditions documentation.
  • Respond to contractor RFIs during construction phase.

Project Management (40%):

  • Track project schedules and milestones for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate consultant deliverables and manage project timelines.
  • Handle day-to-day client communications and meeting coordination.
  • Monitor project progress against budgets (reporting to principal).
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and distribute action items.
  • Coordinate permit submissions and municipal approvals.
  • Support construction administration.
  • Maintain project filing systems and documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years experience in architecture, BA Arch, MA Arch or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and project management scheduling software is a plus.
  • Highly organized, self-starter.
