Cedar Build Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Project Designer to help reinvent how housing is designed, permitted, and built in America.
You will work on the Cedar Catalog Team and project teams to develop prototypes and iterate designs. You'll collaborate with architects and engineers, refine catalog products for live projects, and design buildable housing prototypes using conventional software and Cedar’s catalog tools.
Project Designer
Help reinvent how housing gets designed, permitted, and built in America.
Cedar is building the operating system for urban housing delivery. We combine architectural expertise with software, automation, and data systems to dramatically accelerate how projects move from land acquisition to approved designs and construction. The result: faster timelines, higher quality, lower risk, and more housing in the cities that need it most.
Our team blends architects, engineers, and product builders. We design real buildings — and we build the software systems that make great architecture scalable.
The Role
The Project Designer is primarily positioned both on the Cedar Catalog Team as well as on Project Teams, to develop housing prototypes as well as to iterate project design concepts through design development.
What You’ll Do
Iterate project design concepts and assist project teams in progressing designs through Design Development
Adjust catalog products to fit actual project housing needs, in collaboration with project architects
Design housing prototypes in both conventional software (today) and eventually in Cedar’s proprietary catalog design software
Contribute to creating a library of highly constructable, standardized project elements with technical experts, that reflect the Cedar design look and feel
